Jeanne Maguire Thieme
Medium: Watercolors
Jeanne Maguire Theime is a watercolor artist based in Swanzey, NH.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois to a family of eight children, she migrated to Connecticut where she spent most of her childhood years. Upon graduation from Southern Connecticut State University where she received her BS in Art Education, her art career began in illustration and design in a Connecticut art studio. Always yearning for a more rural, quiet life she soon found herself in New Hampshire where she freelanced with local art studios, then eventually began teaching Art at the local high school. After rewarding years teaching and administering as Fine Art Department Chair, she left teaching to pursue a career of a full time artist in her own studio/gallery on Pipe Dream Farm in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Her energy ever since has been devoted to her passion of painting.
Solveig Tryba
Medium: Paintings - oil/cold wax
Solveig took her first painting class after her retirement. She is fascinated with the process of translating three dimensional images onto a two dimensional canvas. She uses oil paint that she often mixes with cold wax medium. Nature is the most interesting subject to her and how light changes the experience of landscapes and flowers. Solveig tries to capture the beauty and moods that nature invokes in us.
James Cusmano

He has a degree in Fine Art and Design from Pratt Institute, NY with specialty studies at School of Visual Arts, Manhattan and VACNJ, Summit, NJ. He has taught silk painting at VACNJ, and at the Center for Contemporary Art, Bedminster, NJ. Exhibitions include the Morris County Arts Workshop-Solo, Bernardsville Public Library-Solo, Washington Square outdoor, Gracie Mansion outdoor, Center for Contemporary Art outdoor, and VACNJ Members Shows. Jim and his wife owned and operated a successful art and framing gallery for over 10 years. His work is included in corporate and private collections. He currently lives in Peterborough with his wife Christine.
Artist’s Process for Painting on Silk: My inspiration comes from Nature. My paintings are all unique “One of a Kind” compositions created by applying transparent liquid French Dyes to White China Silk by hand, using a brush. The silk is stretched on a frame similar to canvas and various resists and holding techniques are used to manage the “Flow” of dye across the silk fabric. The finished painting is steamed to permanently set the colors and is re-stretched for framing.
Carol Doleac
Medium: Paintings
Carol started painting classes 20 years ago, originally studying watercolors with Evelien Bacharach and Mia Mead, and later explored acrylic painting with Frankie Brackley Tolman and Barbara Danser. Three years ago she began experimenting with pastels and now switches between pastels and acrylic painting.
Artist Statement:
As a colorist, flowers provide me the opportunity to use all the colors in the rainbow. I don’t strive to paint them to be botanically correct but instead I use my imagination to paint them as I wish them to be and to express the joy I have when looking at a beautiful bouquet or amazing garden. I have extensive flower gardens which provide me with endless ideas for flower paintings. I also love visiting botanical gardens in New England or whenever I am traveling. Flowers are beloved across cultures and nations and I’m always delighted to find new gardens to explore.
