Bio
Russell Brandwein is an artist living in Marlborough, NH. He studied at RISD and graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in painting. While pursuing his painting career, he also established Olive Kids, a company that designed children’s products. He and his wife, Anita have lived in New Hampshire for over 30 years, having raised 3 kids and an assortment of dogs, cats and chickens in what was formally known as the Thatcher Hill Inn. Russell’s studio is in one of the grandest barns in New Hampshire.
Russell’s paintings are a meditation on the inspiring landscapes and coast of New England. His style is expressionistic and looks to illuminate the landscape. Recent local shows at the Bryan Gallery in Vermont, the Monadnock Hospital and at Spring Hill Studio.

Artist Statement:
Drawing is like breathing to me—the most direct connection I have between experience and purpose. Painting adds dimension, the emotion of color, and the complications and opportunities of texture and flow. I primarily work in oil, enamel, charcoal and shellac, focusing on the rugged landscapes of New Hampshire. I’m drawn to a place before I understand why. As it comes into focus, the elements of the landscape give way to the relationships between them—depth, distance, interruption, reflection, light. Illumination is central to my work. It determines what is revealed, what is hidden and what is implied. The same process takes place in making a painting. What begins as a response to a landscape becomes a way of understanding what drew me to it in the first place

Laurence Danel-Moore
Bio
Born in Lyon, France, she immigrated to the USA in 1986, and then to Hancock, New Hampshire a quaint rural town of New England in 2019. As a physician, acupuncturist and hypnotherapist, she travelled the world and is inspired and channels these experiences into her paintings by capturing the emotions that each moment and place has evoked in her. She has been painting for 40 years, has evolved in her artistic expression, and has grown as artist exploring oils, pastel and watercolor, broadening her work and always looking to learn and refine her artistic process. https://www.laurencedanelmoore-artist.com
Her exhibit reflects how emotions can take over on the canvas or watercolors, when she travelled in New England and Europe.
In an effort to illustrate her feelings of hope and resilience of humanity she found herself inspired by the colors of winter landscape, warm summer days in Provence (France) as well as more abstract pieces accented by gold and silver inlays.
