Summer Langille arrived in New Hampshire in the fall of 2024. Since being here, she’s enveloped herself in the incredible art culture this region has to offer. She’s a member of the Blue Fern Gallery in Peterborough and you’ll find many of her pieces there throughout the year. She’s shown recently at the : Monadnock Healing Arts Gallery in “Sprout”, Jaffrey Civic Center Spring Show (Juried), Blue Fern Gallery “Mini Masterpieces”, Monadnock Art “Spring Into Art” exhibit, Studio 99 at Bell Arts Factory Ventura, California “Pocket Full of Posies: A Trip on California’s Trails Through Native Flower Collections”, and the Buenaventura Art Association Gallery Member shows , Ventura,California.
Artist Statement: Summer’s journey into paper cut collage began with a passion for nature and sustainability. She transforms recycled papers (her favorite material being old, discarded children’s book jackets) into intricate artwork that celebrates the beauty of the natural world. Raised up and down the coast of California, Summer was always fascinated with the native flora and fauna. Now that she’s on the East Coast, she has a whole new host of flowers and landscapes to draw inspiration from. The pieces in this show are an introduction to what New England flora has to offer. The soft hues of spring lilac to the bright pops of Forsythia, to the tiny, woodsy violets that come up in the grasses- Summer works meticulously, cutting paper by hand and painting with paper, a study of each flower, bringing insight to New Hampshire’s rich and vibrant botany. @summerlangilleart (IG/Facebook), www.summerlangilleart.com-
Judith Prager (New Ipswich, NH and Somerville, MA)
In recent years Judith’s work has been featured in shows at the Bromfield Gallery (SOWA, Boston), the Concord, Ma, Art Association, the Cambridge Art Association and the Inside-Out
Gallery of the Somerville Open Studios, the Gallery of the Monadnock Arts association, the
Somerville Open Studios, and the Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour, and the Monadnock Art Tour.
Judith graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she majored in painting and studied with George Nick and Rob Moore. She has been teaching painting classes for many years and is always learning from her students.
Artist Statement: Nature, and especially flowers, has been a major inspiration for Judith over her lifetime. She is entranced by their beauty- the colors, the shapes, the fragrance, the verdant force and dynamic energy coming through them. “The force that through the green fuse drives the flowers drives my green age.” …as Dylan Thomas says This is expressed dynamic, colorful, bold acrylic and oil paintings on canvas and cradled wood panels, and some drawings, mostly pen and ink, and prints and collage. Dawn V. Randall
Before moving to Harrisville in 2010, Dawn was a lifelong resident of the Boston area and 1950 alumni of the Massachusetts College of Art. Dawn studied with Lawrence Kupferman, with additional studies at the DeCordova and Dana Museums, and the Experimental Etching Studio in Boston. Dawn pursued her art and poetry daily up until her death in 2025 at her Harrisville studio, in addition to exhibiting throughout New England and beyond for over 77 years. Dawn's art can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the US, Canada and a variety of European countries.
Artist Statement: The color and imagery within my drawings and paintings is a personal expression of an awareness and sensitivity to our natural world. My work reflects the study of color and movement not captured by a perfect image of the moment. I begin my work by drawing directly from nature, spontaneous sketches and observational drawings. This is followed by quiet studio time reflecting on both the visions and emotions of the moment. I frequently work in pastels, acrylic and watercolor to allow for change and layering as I develop the piece. Most of these pastels were developed from sketches made in my son in law's beautiful flower gardens.
Roberta Woolfson (Milford, New Hampshire) studied art with Frankie Brackley Tolman at Sharon Arts center for a decade and currently studies under Patrick Mackay at New Hampshire college —Art at French in Manchester, New Hampshire (for twelve years now). She exhibits at The Monadnock Art Tour every year in October and The Hollis Art association in November. She has her own studio in Milford, which is open to the public by appointment.
Artist Statement: I grew up in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa ,surrounded by vibrant colors and powerful scenery. I painted everything I felt and saw, even if it was on the walls of my mother’s veranda. Trained in theater design and literature, I have the tendency to paint large and dramatic pieces, and for many years designed and painted murals in homes, libraries and schools. After decades of studying many different styles of art, I have come to realize I have the most fun pushing boundaries. I travel the world constantly, returning to paint my inspired memories, always with drama and a twist, using acrylic mixed media. It has been an exciting journey discovering my style as expressionist - drama, poetry, emotion, paint, and texture - fused to capture the exciting essence of my world.
